That steak is a stretchy biological machine

If you’ve ever wondered what a steak actually is, then you’re in luck because I’ve got the answer for you! More specifically, what exactly is muscle? As part of the Massive Science report about lab-made meat which I was part of, I investigated the cellular and molecular make-up of the tissue we call meat. Put very briefly, as eaters we only care much about skeletal muscle which is packed with thousands of myofibrils made of muscle proteins. These muscles can be controlled with our thoughts which are translated into electric potentials that activate muscle contractions. Like for example the contraction you experience when you click on the hyperlink above!
